Subscription

Emerald Tools is an auto-renewing subscription, billed monthly or yearly. Both plans start with a 14-day free trial. Prices are shown on the App Store product page and at checkout.

How do I cancel?

Cancel from your App Store account settings. You can open that screen from Settings > Subscription in Emerald Tools with the Manage Subscription… button, or go straight to apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.

After you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.

How do I stop the trial before I am charged?

Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, using the steps above. If you cancel during the trial, you keep access for the rest of the trial period.

How do I request a refund?

All payments are processed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple too. Sign in at reportaproblem.apple.com with your Apple Account, select the purchase, and submit the request. The developer cannot issue refunds.

No. The subscription is available only on the Apple Account that purchased it.

Screenshots are not captured

Emerald Tools needs the Screen Recording permission. Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Screen Recording and allow Emerald Tools.

My Photos albums do not appear in the wallpaper settings

Emerald Tools needs access to your Photos library. Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos and allow Emerald Tools.

How do I use an Aerial as a wallpaper?

Aerials are macOS’s own video wallpapers, and macOS has to download one before any app can use it. Emerald Tools reminds you of this the first time you choose Aerial as a wallpaper source.

Open System Settings > Wallpaper (or Screen Saver), choose the Aerial you want, and click its download button. Wait for the download to finish.
In Emerald Tools, choose Aerial in the wallpaper source card. The file dialog opens in the folder where macOS keeps downloaded Aerials — select the .mov file there.

Aerial videos are large, often several hundred MB to over 1 GB, so the import takes a moment after you select one. If the folder looks empty, the download has not finished yet — go back to step 1.

How do I connect or disconnect Google Drive?

Open the Emerald Tools dashboard and select Google Drive in the sidebar, then sign in with your Google account. Emerald Tools only accesses files and folders it creates itself (the drive.file scope) — it cannot read the rest of your Drive. To disconnect, choose Sign Out on the same screen; the sign-in tokens are then removed from your Keychain. You can also revoke access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.

Who can open a shared screenshot link?

Shared links are restricted links: only people who have the URL can open the file. The access level is set in advance under Google Drive > Link Sharing in the dashboard — don’t share, view, comment, or edit. The default is view only.

If the sharing permission cannot be granted (for example, when your organization restricts link sharing in Drive), the upload still succeeds and the notification tells you that the link opens only for your own account.

How do I enable the Safari extension (Collector)?

Open Safari > Settings > Extensions and turn on Emerald Tools - Image Collector. Then open a page with images and click the Emerald Tools icon in Safari’s toolbar to send them to the app.

A hotkey does not respond

Keyboard shortcuts are set in Settings > Screenshot > Keyboard Shortcuts. If the combination is already used by another app, Emerald Tools reports that the shortcut is already in use when you record it — assign a different combination. Some shortcuts reserved by macOS (such as ⌘Space) cannot be recorded.

I do not receive notifications (save completed / link copied)

Allow notifications for Emerald Tools in System Settings > Notifications.
